Commercial real estate is often viewed through the lens of buildings, leases, maintenance projects, and financial performance. While those things certainly matter, some of the most valuable opportunities in our industry don’t happen inside an office or conference room. They happen when people come together to build relationships, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
That’s one of the reasons events like the MNCAR Golf Tournament continue to be such an important part of Minnesota’s commercial real estate community.
This week, several members of the Suntide team had the opportunity to sponsor a hole at the annual MNCAR Golf Tournament. Throughout the day, we connected with commercial real estate brokers, property professionals, industry partners, and business leaders from across the Twin Cities. Some were familiar faces we’ve worked alongside for years. Others were new connections that may lead to future opportunities and partnerships.
At first glance, a golf tournament may simply look like a day of friendly competition and networking. In reality, events like these play an important role in strengthening the relationships that help commercial properties succeed.
Many property owners face a common challenge: navigating an increasingly complex market while trying to maximize property value, control expenses, attract tenants, and plan for the future. No one person has all the answers. The best solutions often come from collaboration, shared experience, and access to a strong professional network.
When commercial real estate professionals gather, conversations naturally turn toward market trends, operational challenges, emerging opportunities, and lessons learned. These discussions help create a stronger industry and ultimately benefit property owners, tenants, and investors alike.
A property owner may never attend an industry golf tournament, but they benefit from the relationships and knowledge that come from events like these. The connections formed today often become the trusted partnerships that solve tomorrow’s challenges.
Whether it’s identifying a qualified tenant, coordinating a construction project, finding a cost-effective maintenance solution, or navigating a complex transaction, strong industry relationships help move projects forward more efficiently.
One of the things we appreciate most about the commercial real estate industry is its willingness to share knowledge. Even among competitors, there is a genuine understanding that a stronger market benefits everyone. That spirit was on full display throughout the tournament.
The event also highlighted something we believe deeply at Suntide: commercial real estate is ultimately a people business. Buildings matter. Financial performance matters. But long-term success is built on trust, communication, and relationships.
As we spent the day meeting new professionals, reconnecting with longtime industry partners, and even hosting a few rounds of ring toss at our sponsored hole, we were reminded that meaningful business relationships often begin with simple conversations.
For property owners, investors, and tenants, that’s good news. Because when your commercial real estate team is actively involved in the industry, building relationships, and staying connected to the broader market, you gain access to more resources, more expertise, and more opportunities.
We’re grateful to MNCAR for hosting another outstanding event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We look forward to continuing those conversations and helping commercial properties throughout the Twin Cities move forward with confidence.
