1911 RICE STREET
The Challenge
Suntide purchased 1911 Rice Street with the intent of converting the property into a mixed-use property with storage capabilities on the lower level. The property came with many obstacles, including poor lighting, clutter, inefficient windows, and overgrown landscaping.
The Solution
The Suntide construction team immediately began upgrading the property to get it ready for leasing. Upgrades included new exterior paint, windows, resurfacing the parking lot, and a complete demo + renovation of the interior.
Also, as part of Suntide’s ongoing commitment to energy efficiency, the property is now fitted with rooftop solar. This new solar system will produce approximately 22,000 KWH/year, which offsets 15.5221 metric tons of CO2 per year.
The solar array works in conjunction with a newly installed geothermal system that will significantly decrease the property’s reliance on natural gas and allow the building to effectively utilize the energy from the renewable solar.
